Should I be using a ceramic bearing for my spindle, or will the steel bearings work? This is a common question nowadays when talking about machine tool spindles. Although most manufacturers will tell you the ceramic ball has far more advantages than the steel ball. In most cases that may be true, but is it necessary for your application? Quantum Precision is not looking to sell you the most expensive bearing for your application. We’ll work with you to provide a bearing that will perform under your conditions, and at a reasonable cost.
I need to run my spindle at 12,000 rpm, will I still get good bearing life? If you have the right bearing and the proper lubrication, bearing life should not be an issue. Give us the details on your spindle assembly and we’ll let you know what your limits are.
Customer Support
I’ve been told that the bearing I need is not available for 16 weeks, how can I get my machine up and running? At Quantum Precision, we’re not just looking at your part number. We’ll review your application and the bearing that is presently being used. It may be that the bearing you are trying to replace isn’t the best item for your application. We’ll go through the history of the machine, the speed and load of the bearing, and suggest the right product for you.
